work is priced in 24-hour build cycles, not hours & not weeks. most things worth building are one to three of them.

you don't pick a proposal & hope. teams build in parallel and you take the one that actually works.

a paid adversarial round tries to break the build. finding the hole is somebody's job, not your discovery in month three.
